With over 400,000 open jobs in residential construction, and jobs in the sector projected to grow by another 10% by 2028 (much faster than average job growth across industries), a role as an Engagement Manager with BTF will enable you to have a direct, positive impact on many individuals.

Job Title: Engagement Coordinator or Engagement Manager – Dallas, TX

Primary Purpose:Recruitment and placement of candidates from skilled trades education programs into job opportunities with contractors within our network of Trade Skills employer-partners.

Secondary Purpose:To build collaborative relationships with local workforce development programs, construction training schools, and residential contractors. To promote careers in construction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the high-volume recruitment process from A to Z, which includes (but is not limited to):
  • Create requisitions to hire, source, and screen candidates.
  • Participate in interviews, check references, and all other relevant aspects of field recruitment.
  • Establish and build relationships with residential contractors to build hiring funnels of students.
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies and plans with local nonprofits and workforce development organizations.
  • Identify and implement recruitment strategies for specific skill sets with external agencies such as industry associations, technical/trade schools, community colleges, and other service organizations.
  • Develop and implement grassroots initiatives such as career fairs and targeted advertising to maximize the pool of potential candidates and engage local communities.
  • Work in collaboration with the management team to ensure that recruitment processes are developed, implemented, communicated, and delivered in support of the recruitment initiatives.
  • Advise the supervisors/managers on employment law pertinent to staffing practices in various states.
  • Manage the posting of field positions.
  • Report on field recruitment activities and prepare reviews to provide insight into success and areas of opportunity.
  • Maintain and update applicant database/spreadsheet.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience recruiting in Skilled Trades (Construction, Plumbing, Electric, HVAC) industry preferred.
  • 5-10 years recruiting or sales or account management experience preferred.

Skills / Knowledge:

  • Recruiting/sales/account management.
  • Superior interpersonal and effective communication skills and ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Prior experience with applicant tracking systems is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic and accountability a must.
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge and use of appropriate standardized screening tools and tests.
