Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Account Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing client relationships, driving sales growth, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role is responsible for attracting new school groups through referrals and prospecting while consistently renewing legacy groups travel. Once new groups become clients, the Account Manager creates personalized travel experiences by developing meaningful relationships and delivering exemplary customer service. This role requires a blend of student travel sales expertise and strong communication skills to effectively analyze client needs and negotiate solutions that align with our business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the entire student travel sales cycle, from prospecting, initial relationship building, and trip completion, by demonstrating and providing superior customer service throughout the process
- Enter customer information into CRM tools
- Prepare each customized itinerary
- Obtain and maintain industry knowledge and recommend the best performance venues, menus, amenities and activities for each client
- Assist clients in determining their trip budget based on their expected number of passengers and destination
- Schedule and attend client meetings, parent meetings (in person and virtual) and industry trade shows
- Keep organized records of all client and vendor communications; communicate and report on correspondence from clients with the Director of Sales and the Operations Team
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with clients at all levels.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service and possess impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong administrative and multi-tasking abilities to simultaneously handle multiple trips and the budgets, tasks and responsibilities needed for each
- A positive, anything-is-possible attitude with clients; willing to go the extra mile to ensure their needs are exceeded
- Willingness to work beyond normal business hours as necessary
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), “Go to Meeting”, other Web Conferencing Systems such as Zoom, Google Meet etc., On-line Payment Systems, Google Sheets and Dropbox
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with clients, vendors and fellow staff members
- Proven negotiation skills with a track record of closing deals successfully
- Experience in student travel sales is highly desirable
- Ability to develop strategic business plans that align with company goals
- Leadership qualities that inspire collaboration within teams and drive results
